iPhone device not showing up in iTunes-Fixing guide this annoying issue

iphone not showing up in itunes
In this article, we discuss one of the most common problems that iPhone or iPad users experience. Often, the following complaints come from our readers:

- iPhone device not showing up in iTunes.
- The computer does not detect the device when I connect the iPhone or iPad to the computer.
- iTunes does not see the phone / iPhone. What can I do?
- The computer does not see the iPhone.

In fact, the answer to each of the above questions is the same. Continue reading for the solution. We may have to use iTunes frequently. For example, transfer large media files, create an encrypted backup, restore your device. iTunes is a must for many reasons in our lives.

Does iTunes not recognize your iPhone or iPad?

1. Restart your iPhone and computer.

To perform a hard reset on the iPhone, press and hold the Home button and the Power button and do not release until you see the Apple logo. After your iPhone restarts, continue and restart your computer.

Try connecting again and see if it works. If the problem is not resolved, try the next step.

2. Update iTunes and iOS.

At this point, you should make sure that both your iPhone / iPad and your Mac have the most up-to-date software. In iTunes on your Mac, you can do so by going to iTunes in the top menu and then clicking Check for Updates…. If you are on a PC, the Check for updates option is available in the Help menu. On your iOS device, you can find this setting in Settings> General> Software Update.

3. Use a different USB port.

If your iPhone or iPad is not visible to iTunes and does not charge when plugged into your computer, there may be a problem with that USB port. Try taking the USB end of the cable and connecting it to another USB port; Likewise, if you are using some type of USB hub, unplug it and plug the charging cable directly into your computer.

4. Use a different USB cable.

Perhaps the USB cable or Lightning cable you are using may be defective. Try connecting to iTunes with a different cable. If you cannot connect with a different cable, continue with the following steps to resolve the issue.

5. Check the charging input of your device.

Unplug your iPhone or iPad and check the charging port for any dirt. Sometimes your iPhone or iPad may be charged, but if the pin responsible for that connection is not communicating, it may not appear in iTunes. If you see dust, lint, or dirt, you can slowly use compressed air to clean them. (High pressure may further deteriorate. Beware.)

Try connecting again. If iTunes still doesn't see your iPhone or iPad, continue with the steps below.

6. You can reset location and privacy data.

When you connect your iPhone and iPad to a new computer, you must accept the Trusted Device pop-up to connect. The purpose is to provide protection against malware.
If you accidentally clicked Do Not Trust first or removed the pop-up window without reading it, this may cause iTunes not to see your devices.

If you have previously chosen not to trust the computer, iTunes should ask you every time you connect; however, this sometimes does not work. There's something you can do again. Resetting trust permission is one of them. Note that this will also reset all location and privacy settings.

a- Start the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
b- Touch General.
c- Tap Reset.

d- Tap Reset Location & Privacy.
e- Type your password.
f- Tap Reset Settings in the pop-up window.

After the settings are reset, try reconnecting your iPhone or iPad to your computer. You should see the trusted window shown above on both iTunes and your iPhone or iPad. Confirm this window.

7. Contact technical services.

If none of the above steps solve your problem, maybe the problem is with your device. It is recommended that you contact Apple technical services to resolve the issue.
